Leicester Nirvana's new management team for season 2016/17

It has been important for us to find the right balance of experience and quality to support a group of very talented young players. After a busy period we are pleased to announce our new management team for the coming season.

Dave Williams alongside Owen Wright, with support from Mark Rawle and Scott Eustace focussing on coaching and player development and a new role this year for Tobias Hawkins as our fitness strength and conditioning coach. Richard Gerald will be our new football co-ordinater.

These appointments have a fantastic blend of professional and non league experience and the knowledge necessary to improve the playing staff and team going forward, and we wish them well.

Nirvana's 1st Team Manager Moves On

After 5 years at the helm of Leicester Nirvana's 1st team, Damion Qualiey, after discussions with the management Committe will move into a new role.

A reshuffle internally will see his role as 1st team manager conclude with him taking on a new challenge higher up the non league pyramid system. However this is far from the end as a new role for Damian behind the scenes on Nirvana's committee will commence to ensure our progress continues.

Damian is part of the fabric of Nirvanaand his role at the helm cannot be underestimated. His achievements and dedication in the face of adversity are compelling and it goes without saying we as a club wish him well and every success going forward.

His progression is another example of the club providing a platform for many who wouldn't or don't have those opportunities. Nirvana prides itself on encouraging and supporting progression and as we move, we support our community and members to do so too, in the right way at the right time!

Damian is one of many in a line of players, coaches and managers over the years who have successfully developed, learnt and progressed through Nirvana, another positive role model.

For us now we begin the process of ensuring next season is as exciting as the previous ones and to once again establish a platform for us as a club to move on.

How Many Hours Do You Think Nirvana Volunteers a year?

Celebrating Volunteers week.

Leicester Nirvana FC volunteers over 20,000 hours of work each year which is equivalent to £130,000 - £280,000 a year of paid work. Statistics from Sport England’s Active People Survey revealed that Football volunteers contributed 96 million hours a year nationally. Volunteers are the lifeblood of grassroots sport and without them there would not be as many opportunities for people to participate in sport.

Volunteers’ Week (1-12 June) is an annual event which celebrates the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK raising the profile of volunteers who regularly contribute to society.

Nirvana has been volunteering in the local community for over 35 years. All our volunteers are ultimately giving their time unselfishly to help, develop and provide an opportunity for someone else's child to play football. How are you helping them to do that?

There is a misconception that volunteering in football means that you need to understand football. There are many opportunities to volunteer with Nirvana that range from roles such as coaching youths, administration to media and advertising.

We want to hear about how you can help the club with the skills you have. If you would like to give something back to the community by volunteering, please contact us at info@leicesternkrvana.co.uk
