Nirvana Awarded the FA Charter Standard Club of the Year 2015

Leicester Nirvana has been awarded the FA Charter Standard Development Club of the Year, proving that hard work, determination and commitment to work as a team and club pays off.

The FA Community Awards, presented by McDonald's, took place at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday 26 May 2015. World Cup winner and McDonald’s Director of Football, Sir Geoff Hurst attended the ceremony and congratulated the Nirvana on their achievement.

Nirvana has worked hard to develop young players through to senior football by having a philosophy of how the game is played and coached. Off the pitch, Nirvana has become a community leader both locally and nationally speaking out and championing grassroots football.

Nirvana member Ivan Liburd said, “Although we do not volunteer for recognition, awards such as these are important for many reasons and to many people. They reaffirm that your dedication to volunteering in your community is appreciated, and recognises the contribution of grassroots in wider environment of football.

The award is also a testament to all the young players that are involved with the club and the fantastic achievement of our senior team on their debut season in the United Counties League Premier Division”.

Nirvana embodies more than a football club and aims to be a platform that allows young people life changing opportunities via football or other arenas.

With a strong community focus, Nirvana will continue to fuse football and the development of communities.

Manager/ Coach Wanted for Under 18

An Exciting opportunity has become vacant to Manage/Coach an Under 18 side as part of the senior setup of Nirvana.

We are delighted and relishing the prospect of re establishing an Under 18 side. The Under 18 side have been registered for The Leicestershire Midweek Youth League and have also been entered in the FA Youth Cup.

The intention is to integrate the U18's as part of the Seniors structure.  The first team currently play in The United Counties Premier Division with the reserves playing in The Leicestershire Senior League (Division 1).

The Under 18's will provide a platform for the youngsters to imbed themselves into the senior setup of the football club. The successful candidate will liaise and work closely with the management committee to set the direction of the team and also with the 1st team management. This will ensure the Under 18's establish themselves as in important element of the senior setup and the young players have the platform to progress in Non League Football or beyond. As with the Seniors the Under 18's home ground will be Highfield Rangers FC on Gleneagles Avenue.

Anyone Interested In the role should email their details to nirvanafc@hotmail.co.uk or call Zak Hajat on 07811 843 136 for more details.
